Phantasm
Also referred to as spirits, phantams are a curious form of life born of soulfire and ichor, birthed from the aggregate halo of sentients coalesceing within an impression around a central concept; the focal points responsible are often referred to as their ideal, while their area is referred to as their dominion.
Power Classifications
Wisp
The lowest class of phantasm, with barely a distinctive identity to perpetuate. More a loose collection of soulfire than creature, wisps permeate the environment wherever life abounds. As with all phantasms, their behavior depends upon their ideal.
Many wisps are formed around nature, and will thus tend to stimulate plant growth, dew miscellany surfaces, create small gusts of wind, among other things. Such wisps will often align with the primary ideal of their environment; wisps formed in a canyon generally thought to be windy will often habitually produce wind, those in a lake rumored to have treasure might occasionally sparkle like gold, etc.
Eidolon
A phantasm in possesion a soul, granting them sapience a great deal more freedom. However, eidolons are still bound within their impression, and are reliant upon it for survival. Without one, like any other sapient mortal, an eidolon will slowly erode into the background until it either completely fades or regains its impression.
Dragon
The highest classification of phantasm, which are those that are phlogistically immortal. Notably, this allows dragons to be unrestrained by the impression which birthed them, and makes them exceedingly difficult to cleanse.
This makes draconic shades some of the most dangerous entities on the planet, as they often become the downfall of entire regions. As the shade cannot be normally quelled, this leaves pacifying it as the only viable option to contain the threat. Oddly enough, while wraiths are often more powerful than titans, draconic wraiths are often easer to subdue as their mental state is more readily understood, and thus more easily tempered. Titans, meanwhile, can be entirely unpredictable, leading them to be long-lasting even if weaker, and thus a long-term threat.
Categorization
Given the generality of the classification "phantasm," it is often prudent to further specify the type being discussed. Listed below are a few common types:
